VOTER SERVICES 2010
2010 was a very busy year for the Voter Services Committee. Working with WLKY-TV the Louisville League of Women Voters presented a Primary Election Mayoral Candidates Forum in April, a General Election Mayoral Candidates Forum and a 3rd Congressional District Candidates Forum both in October. These forums were aired on WLKY-TV in prime time and were seen by literally thousands of Metro Louisville viewers. In each case all of the candidates listed on the ballot were invited to participate making the Louisville League the only organization to do so.
For the Metro Council elections, the Louisville League partnered with the Center for Neighborhoods to present a candidates forum in each of the nine districts where there was a competitive race. These forums were each taped by Louisville Metro TV and aired multiple times during the month of October providing Louisville voters many opportunities to learn about the issues in their districts and meet every candidate.
None of this would have been possible without countless volunteer hours by Louisville League members who served as moderators and timekeepers.
